The Benefits of Chlorella

Just living in the modern world means that you are likely being exposed to a wide variety of harmful agents.  This isn't "alarmist talk," but is, in fact, an unfortunate reality.  One of the key components of the technological revolution is heavy metals.  Heavy metals are found in our electronics, and poor disposal and mining techniques have allowed these toxins to become commonplace in our air, water and even our food supply.  This means that detoxification has become increasingly necessary for virtually everyone.

There are steps that you can take that are very easy to aid your body in detoxification.  One is to drink healthy, purified water.  Another step is whenever possible opt for organic foods.  While this will not flush out all of the impurities from your system, it is a step in the right direction.  Another impressive step is to detoxify with chlorella.

Chlorella is a single-cell green algae that has been the subject of a tremendous amount of research over the last few decades.  Chlorella has received the attention of researchers for a surprisingly diverse number of reasons.  Studies have found chlorella of interest due to its high nutritional value.  As a food, chlorella is high in protein and has an assortment of vitamins and minerals as well.  Yet, what has created the most interest in chlorella is its potential detoxifying benefits.

The reason that chlorella has been a constant source of research is, in no small part, due to its potential to work in detoxification.  Even back in the 1950’s, studies were analyzing its benefits in assisting mice with cancer.  As it turned out, mice that received chlorella lived three times as long.

Chlorella may be able to protect against the effects of radiation exposure and, in this regard, those undergoing chemotherapy and other radiation treatments have used it.  However, the use of chlorella is complex and, of course, one should consult his or her doctor before using chlorella for these reasons.

Chlorella also aids in detoxification through assisting with the removal of heavy metals.  Many believe that chlorella may be able to remove large amounts of heavy metals from the body without any side effects.

There is some disagreement regarding how well chlorella works in the detoxification process; however, with that stated, it is important to note that many people swear by chlorella for detoxification purposes.  Additionally, chlorella continues to receive a good deal of attention from researchers that are convinced of its impressive abilities to aid with detoxification.
Those interested in detoxification will also want to consider the blue-green algae spirulina, as well as cilantro, both of which have shown an impressive ability to successfully detoxify.  It is important to remember that there are natural supplements that you can use to aid with detoxification.  By following a healthy diet, purifying your water and incorporating detoxifying supplements like chlorella, you can help safeguard your health.
