Benefit of Avocados
There are many health benefits of Avocados. It’s hard to find a good reason not to include avocados in your daily diet. Avocados is versatile, tasty and easy to prepare, they seem to benefit the whole body from head to toe, literally.
For years we have been taught that fats are bad for us. However, doctors and nutritionists are gradually realizing that not all fats are harmful; in fact some fats are essential to a healthy heart and body. Dr David Heber, MD, PhD and Director of the Center for Human Nutrition says:

Avocados Aid Absorption of Nutrients
Avocados in particular are being highlighted as a valuable source of “good” fat, and not just because of what they contain. Avocados apparently act as a catalyst so that other foods, specifically beta-carotene in foods, are better absorbed by the body when eaten with avocado.
Recent findings show that more carotenoids from a beta-carotene-rich tomato are absorbed and converted into vitamin A when consumed with avocado than without. It shows that avocados have an ability to boost the way the body absorbs, converts and delivers essential trace nutrients from other foods.
Avocados Support Healthy Bones, Eyes and Skin
Although moderately high in calories, avocados contain fiber, potassium, vitamins B and E along with folic acid, making them a one-stop supplement for many essential nutrients. The oleic acid they contain supports healthy cells throughout the body and the vitamin D content aids absorption of calcium to maintain healthy bones.
Avocados are rich in carotenoid lutein, a substance which is associated with good vision and eye health. It may help prevent serious eye diseases such as age-related macular degeneration and cataracts.
Currently there is much talk about the importance of antioxidants to counter harmful free radical damage within the body. Avocados are particularly high in glutathione, an antioxidant which is thought to fight free radicals by blocking absorption of certain fats.
Another important benefit of antioxidants is that they help prevent external signs of aging, including fine lines and wrinkles. Loaded with vitamins E, A, B6 and D, avocados can help maintain a glowing complexion and are beneficial for treating dry skin, psoriasis and eczema. Rubbing avocado flesh onto sunburn may help heal the skin while keeping it lightly moist with natural oils.
Avocados are Heart Healthy
Avocados, it seems, are dense in valuable nutrients as well as being rich in monounsaturated fatty acids. They are a heart-healthy fruit which can aid in controlling cholesterol to maintain a healthy cardiovascular system. By maintaining a healthy blood flow, the monounsaturated fats also support healthy brain function into old age.
The potassium in avocados specifically helps regulate blood pressure and the natural rhythm of the heart. In fact, avocados contain more potassium than bananas in a typical 3-ounce serving. Folic acid is known to protect against strokes and those who eat avocados daily have been found to be 40% less likely to suffer a stroke than those who do not.
