Your wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime event that symbolizes the start of a new life, which is why many brides-to-be choose to start new fitness and diet regimens in the months leading up to the big day. Not only do you want to look fit and fabulous in your white dress, but you also want to feel vibrant and healthy for this momentous occasion. Check out these tips and tricks on how to get fit and healthy for your wedding.
Cleanse and detox. A great way to jumpstart your new healthy lifestyle is to complete a cleanse or detox of some sort. A popular option is The Master Cleanse, a concoction which includes lemon juice and hot sauce that is supposed to help rid your body of built up toxins. However, there are other less drastic ways to cleanse your body, such as eating only raw fruits and vegetables and drinking only water for three or more days. The key is to listen to your body and do what works for you. You can also do a green drink juice cleanse as a healthier alternative to the Master Cleanse.
Stretch your muscles. Most people under estimate the importance of daily stretching sessions. Stretching your muscles every morning and night helps to keep them long and limber and helps reduce muscle tension which can lead to headaches and stress. Just remember to breath and move slowly through the stretches to prevent any injuries.
Sweat. Choose an activity that gets your heart rate up and makes you sweat. Sweating is the body's way of cleansing so as long as you make it a point to work up a sweat at least five times a week you will be well on your way to feeling fantastic on your wedding day. You can also incorporate steam room and sauna sessions to help you sweat it out!
Drink water. All this detoxing and sweating will leave you dehydrated unless you make it a point to drink lots of water every day. To help you measure how much water you're drinking each day, consider purchasing a large sturdy water bottle such as Nalgene which has measurements etched on the side of the bottle. If you want a little something extra to add to your water, throw in a green supplement such as All Day Energy Greens.
Increase your fruit and veggie intake. The benefits of fresh produce are practically endless. If you make an effort to eat more throughout your day you will no doubt notice your tummy getting smaller, your skin getting clearer, and your energy levels increasing. If you need a little extra help, consider making fruit smoothies with one tablespoon of All Day Energy Greens mixed in. The ingredients of this green powder include green tea extract, red raspberry leaf extract, and tons of other fruits and veggies, making it one of the most powerful, immune-enhancing green drinks on the market.
Reduce your consumption of saturated fat and processed foods. Avoid fast food and greasy junk food at all costs! They will only slow you down and make you feel fat and gross. Whenever a junk food craving hits, throw on your running shoes and go for a jog to curb the craving.
Rest up. Planning a wedding and going on a health kick is hard work! Inadequate sleep can wreak havoc on your new healthy lifestyle, so make sure you get plenty of zzz's in the months leading up to your big day.
Follow these tips and you'll be glowing from the inside out on your big wedding day.
